1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using VELT (the "Platform") you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Account creation & eligibility
To use VELT you must create an account, provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You may only create an account if you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.
3. VELT Membership
VELT is offered as an annual membership. Student and Individual memberships include a 30-day free trial; the Business membership has no free trial and is charged at signup. Current pricing is £12.99 per year (Student), £22.99 per year (Individual — currently discounted from £23.99), and £21.99 per year (Business). You can cancel at any time. We may change features or pricing in the future; material changes will be communicated to active members in advance.
4. Billing & automatic renewals
By starting your membership (or your 30-day free trial, where one applies) you authorise VELT (or our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method:
- Your annual membership fee — immediately at signup for Business memberships, or at the end of your 30-day free trial for Student and Individual memberships — and on each yearly renewal date thereafter.
- Automatically each year until the membership is cancelled.
- Any applicable taxes and surcharges.
Renewal pricing is the price in effect at the time of renewal, unless we have notified you of a different price in advance.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current paid billing period, after which your account will revert to the free tier.
6. Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable once payment has been processed. For full details please see our Refund Policy.
7. Failed payments
If a payment fails we may retry the charge, notify you and temporarily suspend access to premium features until payment is successfully made. Continued failure to pay may result in downgrade or termination of your subscription.
8. User responsibilities
You agree to use VELT in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable laws. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish on your profile and for any consequences of sharing it.
9. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you upload to VELT, including profile information, photos and links. By uploading content you grant VELT a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content solely as needed to operate the Platform and provide the service to you and the people you share with.
10. Public profile responsibility
Your VELT profile may be publicly accessible. You are solely responsible for the information you choose to display, including ensuring you have the right to use any images, logos or third-party content, and that the information does not violate any law or third-party rights.
11. Intellectual property
The VELT name, logo, design, software and all related intellectual property are owned by VELT and protected by applicable laws. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
12. Platform availability
We aim to keep VELT available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Platform, including specific features, at any time. We are not liable for any loss resulting from temporary unavailability.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VELT and its affiliates, officers, employees and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid VELT in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or any applicable law, or if continued provision of the Platform to you would expose VELT to risk. You may close your account at any time from your settings.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
16. Early Adopter Programme
Users who join as part of the first 250 founding VELT members are part of our Early Adopter Programme. As an early adopter, you will receive exclusive access to early versions of the VELT digital card, platform interfaces, and user experiences, allowing you to help shape the future of our network.
As the Platform continues to develop and improve post-launch (June 2026), features, layouts, application interfaces, branding, and physical/digital card designs will evolve and receive updates. By creating an account and subscribing, you acknowledge and agree that your digital card, profile options, and general platform experience may change and evolve during your subscription period as part of our commitment to continuous platform enhancement, visual refinement, and technical optimization.
